EOL Process

Managing End of Lease (EOL)

The assets (devices) supplied by the TELA+ Scheme are owned by the leasing company.  Your chosen administrators will be notified by email, the number of assets expiring at approximately 3months, 2months and on the 1st of the month the lease expires.

End of lease processes:

The lease will end when all devices are either purchased by the school or returned. If returning devices, the deadline for the return is the end of the month after the lease expiry date. Please refer to your Month of Expiry Notification.

The leasing company will invoice the school for the overdue devices for a maximum of two months and thereafter, if the devices remain outstanding, they will sell the devices to the school at the full end of lease buy price plus GST. Your school will be notified before invoicing to end the lease.

How does the end of lease process work:

All assets will be set to 'return' by automation on the 1st of the month the lease expires.

Choose to buy - go to asset register, edit, and select buy. If you are buying all the devices use the 'buy all' tick box. The school will be invoiced after the lease has expired.

  • Now click ‘Confirm Update’.
  • The options you have chosen will now display for review. When you are satisfied all are correct click ‘UPDATE’ to finalise your choice.

Change of mind - if someone chooses to buy and then changes their mind, you can now edit your decision online via the asset register on the portal.

Returning devices:

All devices must be returned in good working order accompanied by all accessories issued at the start of the lease. This includes a working power supply unit and items such as pens etc.

Bags do not need to be returned. If fit for purpose, please donate with our support to a student in need of a new school bag.

Prior to packing up the devices for return, please:

  • transfer all data to the new devices (Note: the download file in Windows doesn't not automatically sync with onedrive),
  • unenroll from any management tools for example Apple School Manager, Microsoft Intune, JAMF etc,
  • remove any personal accounts e.g. Apple iCloud and
  • remove all passwords, including Bios passwords.

If devices are returned with passwords on them and it requires us to send the devices back to the school, we may charge the school for the additional courier costs incurred.

The change of ownership for devices the school chooses to buy will occur once the payment relating to the invoiced amount is cleared. No payment plans are offered. The devices are sold in 'as is' condition.

Ngā mihi,

Your Tela+ Team
